Barbara Divis

Barbara Divis never expected to become an opera singer but the "bug" caught her, and she's already performed in more than 35 roles on stage. The El Paso native returns to her hometown on Thursday, Aug. 30, to perform a debut benefit concert at El Paso's Plaza Theatre at 7:30 p.m.. The concert will include a tribute to the military, songs for lovers, Broadway show tunes, and plenty of opera arias, as well as performances by pianist Margaret Haggedorn and The Quintessential Brass Group. Barbara stopped by the KRWG-FM studios for an interview with Intermezzo host Leora Zeitlin to talk about the concert, growing up as an "Army brat," and some of the tunes on her cd.
