La Catrina Quartet
La Catrina Quartet, which was featured as one of the ”next generation of classical stars” at Carnegie Hall, is back in Las Cruces, thanks to the efforts of the Las Cruces Friends of Chamber Music. La Catrina is spending a week-long residency at NMSU, working with both high school and university students, and giving a concert on Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the newly-named Atkinson Recital Hall in the NMSU Music Building. They came by the studios of KRWG-FM for their second in-studio interview with Intermezzo host Leora Zeitlin. The popular ensemble first came to the area in November 2007. The musicians of La Catrina are violinists Daniel Vega-Albela and Blake Espy, violist Jorge Martinez and cellist Alan Daowz.
