St. Petersburg String Quartet The world-renowned St. Petersburg String Quartet visited Las Cruces on June 12, 2007, and all four members stopped by the KRWG-FM studios during Leora Zeitlin's "Intermezzo." Violinist Alla Aranovskaya and cellist Leonid Shukayev provide background information on the history of the quartet and the music we listened to during their visit; violist Boris Vayner and second violinist Alla Krolevich also add their perspective about their work with the ensemble.

Musical selections played during the interview are all from the St. Petersburg String Quartet's recordings:

  1. Peter Tchaikovsky, String Quartet No. 3 in E-flat minor, Op. 30: 2nd movement (Sony #57654);
